Financial Services Growth & Competitiveness Strategy
In November 2024, HM Treasury published a Call for Evidence for the UK Government's Financial Services Growth & Competitiveness Strategy. This will inform the development of the financial services sector plan, a key part of the government’s industrial strategy (see below).
AREF submitted its response to the Call for Evidence on 12 December 2024.
Green Paper: Invest 2035 - UK Modern Industrial Strategy
In October 2024, the Department for Business and Trade published a Green Paper on the Government's Industrial Strategy for the next 10 years. This focusses on driving growth in eight sectors:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Clean Energy Industries
- Creative Industries
- Defence
- Digital and Technologies
- Financial Services
- Life Sciences
- Professional and Business Services
AREF explained in its response, submitted on 22 November 2024, that for all of these growth-driving sectors real estate investment should be a foundational sector.
