On the 27th April 2021 AREF held a very productive interactive session with investors discussing the issues affecting them in the Real Estate Industry.
Paul Richards, MD at AREF, moderated the session with his Co-Chair Rebecca Middleton, Fund Manager at DTZ Investors and Member of the AREF Board. Investors discussed what AREF could be doing to bring improvements in processing secondary market trades and their transparency.
Also there was a discussion on ESG and impact investing reporting which is now high in investors’ priorities. It was noted that fund managers were receiving requests for a lot of ESG data from investors, and this would only increase over time. Investors explored whether it would be helpful for AREF to produce a reporting template for common questions asked by investors.
There were also brief discussions on sharing fund managers’ best practice and property debt funds.
Full notes from the session have been sent out to Investor Members.
These sessions will be held quarterly, and are open to any and all qualified investors using property funds, no AREF membership is required.
