Sarah is a Partner in the Real Estate team at Travers Smith with a particular expertise in advising on sustainable real estate, including green leases, social clauses, and aligning ESG investment and portfolio asset management strategies.  

Sarah has considerable experience across a varied range of asset classes, staying close to market trends alongside her clients. From investments into offices and flagship city centre developments, to healthcare assets, student accommodation and BTR. Examples of some recent work include advising the University of Oxford in connection with their joint venture with L&G to develop life sciences buildings and graduate accommodation and advising real estate fund clients on an ESG review of their precedent leasehold terms. 

Sarah is a member of AREF as well as the BPF sustainability committee, and the BPF’s green leasing consultation group and is currently active in upskilling clients on ESG related requirements as they affect their investment decisions. She is also a member of Travers Smith's ESG & Impact Group. 

Sarah is also active in ESG Real Estate Thought Leadership, having recently co-written "Focussing on the S in "lease"" for the Estates Gazette and including some recent articles:

Marc is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team in Edinburgh with over 16 years’ experience and a focus on Real Estate Disputes in Scotland. 

Marc works with clients in relation to a variety of disputes including those relating to development contracts, option agreements, access disputes, negligence, encroachment, property repairs, service charge, title conditions, judicial review, contract interpretation, energy sector compensation claims and the Electronic Communications Code.

Working closely with the CMS Real Estate, Planning, Environmental and Energy teams, Marc provides dispute resolution advice across each of these key client sectors. 

Marc is dual qualified in Scotland and England, and works across the Sheriff Courts, Court of Session and Lands Tribunal for Scotland.

Kirsty provides restructuring and insolvency advice to the full spectrum of stakeholders, including private equity sponsors, corporates and their boards, insolvency practitioners, turnaround professionals, distressed investors, and other creditors.
