On 12 October 2023, Ashley Alder, FCA Chair, gave a speech, at the Investment Association's Annual Dinner, on the FCA's priorities for updating and improving the UK regime for asset management.
AREF submitted a response to the FCA's discussion paper (DP23/2) on updating and improving the UK regime for asset management. This was based upon a model response produced with other real-estate related associations (BPF, CREFC Europe, INREV and IPF).
AREF's response to this consultation was overseen by the Public Policy Committee.
Background
The discussion paper, published in February 2023, set out some ideas about how the FCA might modernise the UK regime for asset management and remove some of the duplication and inconsistences within the current regime. They want to make sure the regime takes account of developments in technology and supports innovation.
