On 23 April 2024, the FCA published the Finalised non-handbook guidance on the Anti-Greenwashing Rule (FG24/3). The anti-greenwashing rule and the guidance come into effect from 31 May 2024.

Background information

Following on from the publication of the Policy Statement (PS23/16) for Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and investment labels, the FCA had consulted, until
26 January 2024, on their proposed guidance on the anti-greenwashing rule (GC23/3). This set out their expectations for any FCA authorised firm that makes claims about the sustainability of a product or service.

AREF submitted a response to the consultation. In drafting this response AREF liaised with other real estate related associations to ensure our responses were aligned.

AREF's Public Policy Committee and ESG & Impact Investing Committee oversaw AREF's response to the consultation.
