It will cover the operational aspects of alternative lending, the structuring and management of private debt transactions, and why debt funds may be chosen over traditional bank lending. The discussion will also examine the lender-borrower relationship and offer useful insights into this area of the market.

Speaker biographies:

Patrick Groves

Partner, CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP

Patrick Groves joined CMS (formerly Nabarro) in 2011 and is a Partner in their Funds and Indirect Real Assets team in London. He advises managers and investors on all aspects of indirect transactions, with an emphasis on fund structuring and advisory work across the real estate, private equity, debt and alternatives space.

Cyrus Korat

Partner, DRC Savills Investment Management

Cyrus has over 23 years of real estate and debt capital markets experience. Prior to DRC, Cyrus was a Senior Investment Manager at Duet Private Equity Limited (“Duet”). Prior to Duet, Cyrus was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co. Cyrus holds a BSc in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University.

Madeleine Greene

Head of Transaction Management, DRC Savills Investment Management

Madeleine has 5 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining DRC, she worked as an Analyst at AgFe in their commercial real estate lending team, specialising in senior debt. She holds a BSc in Physics and Chemistry from Durham University.

Simon Norris

Partner, Victory

Simon is a Partner at Victory.

He has nearly 20 years of diverse investment experience, with extensive knowledge in all aspects of real estate investing. Before this, Simon started his career as a strategy consultant before working on strategy and investment at the BBC and The Carbon Trust.

He has a First Class (Hons) degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (St Catharine's College). He has worked in multiple jurisdictions throughout Europe and the United States, and has also lived and traveled extensively throughout the world.
