This event is on the topical issue of fractionising real estate - tokenisation/digital assets. Speakers will outline the emerging landscape and likely development of fractionising, followed by an interactive panel discussion with delegates of the practical applications for digital assets more generally.

The panel will be introduced by a brief overview from Charles Kerrigan, partner at CMS, followed by Toby Lewis, Novum Insights. The panel will include David Delaney, CEO of IPSX, the first regulated securities exchange trading commercial real estate; Neil Meikle, Global Head of Real Estate Product Strategy, AberdeenStandard Investments; Daniel Coheur, COO of Tokeny Solutions, an end to end tokenisation platform to issue, manage and transfer securities on the blockchain and Adrian Benedict, Investment Director of European Real Estate at Fidelity.

We are planning to host a follow up session later in the year looking at demystifying tokenisation/blockchain generally, in the real estate / real estate funds context.

Adrian Benedict

Investment Director, European Real Estate, Fidelity

Adrian is the Chair of the AREF Corporate Governance Committee.

Adrian is Investment Director at Fidelity responsible for real estate capital markets and development of new client solutions. He has 20 years experience of advising on and structuring real estate solutions, having previously worked at Invista Real Estate, UBS Investment Bank and PwC. During his career he has been responsible for the launch of several listed property vehicles, the origination and structuring of senior and junior debt as well as the launch of both domestic and international property strategies. During his time at UBS, Adrian specialised in Real Estate Corporate Finance advising major listed companies on M&A, financing, IPOs and Credit Ratings.
 
Adrian joined Fidelity in 2008 and is part of the Senior Management team. He holds a MEng in Civil Engineering, is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and an FSA approved person. He is also a member of the IPF’s Residential Special Interest Group

Daniel Coheur

COO, Tokeny Solutions

Daniel is the co-founder and CCO of Tokeny Solutions. In this role he can lever the experience of his corporate background, which centered around global growth of transactional based enterprises. In capital markets (Clearstream Banking owned by Deutsche Boerse), and telecommunication (Syniverse owned by The Carlyle Group). He is a genuine entrepreneur who mentored and funded several start-ups before creating his own investment boutique. Today, Daniel is working with investment banks, funds, assets managers and distributors to educate these actors on the digital era of finance and accelerate their adoption of distributed ledger technology.

David Delaney

Group Chief Executive, International Property Securities Exchange Group (IPSX)

David is Group Chief Executive of IPSX Group. He joined in August 2019 from fintech communications company VoxSmart, where he had been Chief Commercial Officer for two years focused on customer engagement and driving sales.

Prior to that, he was Head of Strategic Clients and Solutions, EMEA at Thomson Reuters for just over three years, managing a $1 billion book of business. Before Thomson Reuters he spent more than 25 years at Credit Suisse – latterly as Global Head of Fixed Income Sales for interest rate products based in New York – and Barclays Bank Plc.  

Charles Kerrigan

Partner, Banking & International Finance, CMS UK

The Blockchain Industry Landscape Overview 2018 names Charles as one of the UK’s leading influencers on blockchain. He is the UK’s “recommended lawyer” for blockchain and digital technology in the UK Parliament Hub. 
He is a lawyer specialising in finance and technology. He works on corporate finance and venture capital fundraising transactions for companies, funds, platforms and financial institutions. He works on consulting projects on blockchain, digital assets, AI and automation/transformation for public bodies, policy makers, standards institutions and corporate clients.  
Charles sits on the Bank of England’s Financial Markets Law Committee on Virtual Currencies; he is a board member of the Innovators Board at the Big Innovation Centre, named Think Tank of the Year 2018. 
He sits on the advisory boards of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence (APPG AI) and the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain (APPG Blockchain). 
In November 2019 Charles was a Special Consultee to the UK LawTech Delivery Panel’s Legal Statement on Cryptoassets and Smart Contracts. 
He lectures on these topics, including at the LSE, UCL and City University.  
He was a panellist and moderator at the LMA Fintech and Annual Conferences and the ISDA Technology Conference in 2019.  He presented at the City University seminar: Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, Economics, Finance and Law; and at the Future of Finance: Tokenised Assets, London. 
In the last 12 months Charles worked on two of the largest TMT M&A transactions in Europe; over 30 funding transactions involving IP and intangible assets as the primary collateral; multiple online platform financings; and for over 25 clients with blockchain or tokenisation projects.

Toby Lewis

Chief Executive and Founder, Novum Insights

Novum Insights is a data provider for innovation partnering, initially focused on fintech and cybersecurity. It is tracking the commercial relationships between corporations and startups. We are currently working on bespoke data assignments for particular clients and signing customers up in a subscription service.

Toby's role is to lead the Novum Insights team, working closely with data, research, sales and marketing teams to deliver incisive analysis about the world of corporate innovation. As CEO of a young fast-growing business Toby is closely involved in all aspects of development.

Neil Meikle

Global Head of Real Estate Product Strategy, Aberdeen Standard Investments

Neil is responsible for Aberdeen Standard’s global real estate product strategy, working with clients to co-create and launch new real estate products which deliver required investment outcomes. He has extensive client facing experience from dealing directly with a broad range of institutional and wholesale clients from Asia, Europe and the US, and through launching new strategies and securing cornerstone capital.

Neil has a growing professional interest in blockchain and tokenisation.
